This page helps you upload a background image or a home content icon for the app, and copy its web address (the Copy image URL button). Only admin users with access to app configuration can open this tab.

Open App configuration

  1. In the left panel of Lobyco Nexus, open Global Settings. It sits in the Promotion Platform group.
  2. Select the App configuration tab.
The App configuration tab of the Settings screen, with the line Upload background images and home content icons for use across the app, and that the files are stored under the background-images and home-content-icons folders in the assets service. Image type is set to Background image (9:16). Upload image, a required field, is an upload box reading Drop file here to upload or select file, with the rules under it: Allowed formats: .jpeg,.jpg, Max size: 1 MB, and Image must have a 9:16 aspect ratio. Enter image URL, with a link icon, is to the right of the box. The App configuration tab

Choose the image type

Open Image type and pick what you are uploading. Switching the type empties the field below. The rules for the chosen type are printed under the upload box.

Upload the image

  1. Drop the file on the upload box, or select select file and choose it.
  2. The image uploads as soon as you choose it. A preview appears in the box, and there is no Save button on this tab.
Lobyco stores the uploaded image and gives it a web address of its own. The tab doesn’t list your uploads. If you leave the tab or switch Image type, the box empties and you can’t get the address back. So copy the web address first. If you lose it, upload the image again to get a new address. To pick a different image, select Change file. If the image breaks one of the rules in the table, the portal rejects it and shows an error under the box. This tab has no button to delete an image you have already uploaded.

Crop the image

Once an image is in the box, a Crop image button appears next to the preview. It opens a Crop Image window.
  1. Move the image, and use the Rotate and Zoom sliders to frame it. The crop keeps the ratio of the chosen image type. Reset puts the image back as it was.
  2. Select Save. To close the window without cropping, select Cancel.
Saving uploads the cropped image as a new .png file, and the box then shows that file.

Check an image that is already online

If your image is already online, you can paste its web address to check that it has the right ratio. Lobyco doesn’t store the image.
  1. To the right of the upload box, select Enter image URL. The box is replaced by an Image URL field.
  2. Paste the web address into Image URL. The hint under the field repeats the ratio and format for the chosen image type.
  3. To go back to uploading a file, select Upload image.
If the image doesn’t have the right ratio, an error under the field says Image has incorrect ratio. An address that doesn’t load gives the same error, so check the address too. The portal checks only the ratio, not the format or the size. Check the format and size against the table yourself. Copy image URL gives you back the web address you entered.

Copy the web address

A Copy image URL button appears below the field whenever it holds an address. That’s after you upload an image, or once you enter a web address, even one with an error. So check that there’s no error under the field first. If an error shows, fix the address or the image first. Select Copy image URL. The message Image URL copied to clipboard appears.

Troubleshooting

The tab only shows for admin users with access to app configuration. Access to the other tabs on the Global Settings screen doesn’t include it. Ask the person who manages access to Nexus in your organisation.
Check the image against the table above. It may have the wrong ratio, be in a format the image type doesn’t take, or be over 1 MB. Also check that Image type matches the image. A home content icon has to be a .png, and a background image has to be a .jpeg or .jpg. If you entered a web address, Image has incorrect ratio can also mean the address doesn’t load.
