This page helps you look after the consents customers are asked to accept, such as terms and conditions or a marketing opt-in. You find a consent, add a new version when its wording changes, and deactivate a version you no longer want customers to see. Anyone with the consent reader or consent admin role can read consents, and only the consent admin role can change them. The Nexus roles page lists both.
Saving a new version and deactivating a version both take effect straight away, and the screen has no undo.

Open the Consents screen

  1. Sign in to Lobyco Nexus.
  2. In the side menu, under Member management, click Consents.
The screen opens on a tab also called Consents, with a list of every consent your portal manages. The Consents tab, listing consents in five columns: Key, Name, Created at, Effective at and Expires at. Each key is followed by its version and revision, for example terms_and_conditions ver.230 rev.0, named Terms and conditions, created 22/12/2021 12:02, effective from 27/05/2026 23:00 and expiring 27/05/2036 23:00. The rows AQA3 and test_agreement2 show only the key, with no name and a dash in each of the three date columns. The other rows are test consents. The list of consents, with two rows that have no version on offer The list has one row per consent, and each row shows the newest version that is active, effective and not expired. The columns are: A row with a key and dashes in every other column has no version that customers are offered at the moment. Either the consent has no version yet, or all its versions are deactivated, expired or not yet effective. Click the row to see which. If it has no version yet, create its first version. If its versions are all deactivated or expired, nothing shows below the versions when it opens. Click one of the versions, then create a new version from it to offer the consent again. Click a row to open that consent.

Read the versions

A consent opened from the list. Its three versions run across the top, newest first: AQA4_0_2 with a red Deactivate button, then AQA4_0_1 and AQA4_0_0, each marked Deactivated. Below them, the Consent info panel has Create new consent version at its top right and shows ID AQA4_0_2, Key AQA4, Consent type Regular, Is active true, Component app, Version 0, Revision 2, Created at 11/01/2023 18:43, Effective at 14/05/2023 23:00, Expires at 14/05/2033 23:00 and Is published true. The en translations block starts below, with the Name Test consent 4. A consent’s versions and its Consent info Every version of the consent is listed at the top, newest first. Click one to see its dates, its name and its text in each language below. A version can carry these notes:
  • Ineffective means its Effective at date is still in the future, so customers aren’t offered it yet.
  • Expired means its Expires at date has passed, so customers are no longer offered it.
  • Deactivated means someone deactivated it. You see this only with the consent admin role.

Create a new version

Use this when the wording, the name or the dates of a consent change. You can’t edit a version in place. Every save adds a new version on top of the newest one, whichever version you had open, and the older versions stay as they are.
  1. Open the consent from the list.
  2. Click Create new consent version. The details turn into a form and nothing is saved yet.
The Consent info form after Create new consent version, with the consent's three versions still listed above it. ID, Is active, Revision and Created at show a dash. Key AQA4, Component app and Is published true can't be changed, and Consent type Regular is greyed out. Version holds 0, Effective at holds 16/10/2026 00:00 and Expires at holds 16/10/2036 00:00, both with a clear icon. The en translations block has Name, holding Test consent 4, and Content, an empty text editor with a toolbar. The is translations block has an empty Name with the hint Enter consent name, and an empty Content editor. Cancel and Create are at the bottom right. The form for a new version, with one block per language
  1. Change what needs changing.
Name and Content start as those of the version you had open. Effective at always starts as today at 00:00 and Expires at as ten years from today. They don’t copy the dates of the version you had open, so check both before you save.
  1. Click Create.
The form closes and the new version appears at the top of the versions. Customers are offered it from its Effective at date. The Consent page explains how version and revision numbers work. To leave without saving, click Cancel. If you have typed something and then try to leave the screen, an Attention! dialog warns that unsaved changes will be lost. Click Stay to keep editing or Proceed to discard them. Use this for a consent that has no version at all. In the list it shows dashes, and when you click its row no versions are listed and the Consent info form opens straight away. If versions are listed instead, the consent already has versions. Click one and use Create a new version. Fill it in the same way as a new version, with two differences. Consent type is open: pick Regular if customers can withdraw it later, or Agreement if they can’t once they accept. The Consent page explains the two types. You can’t change it afterwards, so decide first. And there is no Cancel button: click Create to save, or leave the screen. After you click Create, the form closes and the first version appears in the versions. Back in the list, the row now shows the key’s version, name and dates.

Deactivate a version

Use this when customers shouldn’t be offered a version any more, for example because it has an error.
  1. Open the consent from the list.
  2. Next to the version you want to remove, click Deactivate. A dialog titled Deactivate consent asks whether you are sure you want to deactivate that version’s ID.
The Deactivate consent dialog over the consent's versions and its Consent info. The dialog asks Are you sure that you want to deactivate 'AQA4_0_2' consent?, and has Cancel, a red Deactivate button, and a close icon at its top right. The Deactivate consent dialog
  1. Click Deactivate in the dialog. To change your mind, click Cancel.
The dialog closes and that version shows Deactivated where its button was. The version stays in the list, and Lobyco no longer offers it to customers. It offers the newest version that is still active, effective and not expired instead, and the consent’s row in the list shows that version. If no version qualifies, the row shows dashes. You can’t turn a deactivated version back on. To bring its wording back, click that version and create a new version from it. The form starts with its name and text.

Troubleshooting

The menu entry appears only for users with the consent reader or consent admin role, and only when Consents is switched on for your portal. If you have a role and the entry is still missing, contact Lobyco support.
Expires at must be later than Effective at. Move one of the dates and click Create again.
  • Consent explains consent types, versions and soft deletion for developers.
  • Nexus roles lists the consent reader and consent admin roles.
