# Azure costs

> How Azure hosting costs split between dedicated client environments and shared platform components.

Lobyco hosts solutions on the client's behalf, and the costs associated with this Azure hosting are divided into two categories.

    ## Dedicated Client Environments

    The Lobyco solution is typically delivered with both a Pre-production and Production environment. These environments are client-specific and include integrations with the client's infrastructure.

    The Pre-production environment is often scaled down to a minimum to reduce hosting costs, whereas the Production environment operates at a higher basic scale to ensure stability and a superior user experience.

    ## Shared Platform Components

    Depending on the client agreement, Lobyco utilizes shared resources to operate more efficiently and reduce costs for clients.

    For example, this could involve a global setup for Azure Front Door and centralized functionality for the Data platform services or centralized capacity for development and testing of the used Core service.

    Clients pay a calculated share of the total platform cost based on usage.
