# Azure costs

> How the Azure hosting bill splits between your dedicated environments and the platform components Lobyco shares between clients.

Lobyco hosts the solution on your behalf, in Azure. The hosting cost has two parts: the environments that are yours alone, and the platform components Lobyco runs once for several clients. This page says what falls in each part.

## Dedicated client environments

Lobyco delivers a pre-production and a production environment. Both are yours alone, and both include the integrations with your infrastructure. The two are scaled differently.

| Environment | Scale | Why |
| - | - | - |
| Pre-production | Scaled down to a minimum | To keep its hosting cost low. It is for testing, not for load. |
| Production | A higher base scale | For stability and response times under real traffic. |

## Shared platform components

Depending on your agreement, Lobyco runs some components once and shares them between clients. That is cheaper than a copy per client. Examples:

* A global Azure Front Door in front of every API.
* Central data platform services.
* Central capacity for developing and testing the core services.

You pay a calculated share of the total cost of these components, based on your usage.
