# Put a store in maintenance mode

> Turn Scan & Pay maintenance mode on or off for one store, or for many stores at once.

This page shows you how to turn Scan & Pay maintenance mode on or off, for one store or for many at once. It's for clients who have Scan & Pay. You need the Scan & Pay admin role to see the **Maintenance** tab.

## Open the Maintenance tab

In Lobyco Nexus, open **Store configuration → Scan & Pay → Store configuration**, then the **Maintenance** tab.

| Column | What it shows |
| - | - |
| **Store name** | The store's name. Type in the box to search by name. |
| **Store ID** | The store's ID. Type in the box to search by ID. |
| **Chain** | The store's chain. Pick one or more chains in **Select chains** to filter the list. |
| **Maintenance** | Whether maintenance mode is **On** or **Off** for the store, with a toggle to change it. Filter the list by **All**, **On** or **Off**. |

## Turn it on or off for one store

Select the toggle in the store's **Maintenance** column. A dialog asks you to confirm, and names the store. Confirm to go ahead, or close the dialog to leave the store as it was.

A message then says maintenance mode is enabled or disabled for the store. The change takes effect within a few minutes.

## Turn it on or off for many stores

Tick the box at the start of each store's row. The box in the header ticks every store on the page.

A bar appears at the bottom of the page. It shows how many stores you've selected, with **Enable MM** and **Disable MM**. MM is short for maintenance mode. Select one of them, then confirm in the dialog. The dialog says how many stores will change.

A message then says how many stores maintenance mode was enabled or disabled for. The change takes effect within a few minutes.

While stores are selected, you can't change the search, the filters or a single store's toggle. To clear the selection, select the **×** in the bar.

## Check the result

Filter the **Maintenance** column by **On** to see every store in maintenance mode. Filter by **Off** to see the stores where it's off.

## Troubleshooting

> **Why don't I see the Maintenance tab?**
>
> The tab needs the Scan & Pay admin role. [Nexus roles](/integration/get-started/admin-portal-roles) lists the roles, which are set in your organisation's Azure AD.

> **Why can't I change the search or the filters?**
>
> You have stores selected. Clear the selection with the **×** in the bar at the bottom, then change the search or the filters.
