# Partner benefit feeds

> Show a partner's benefit in the app as a feed card with a details page, a discount code and a button.

A partner benefit feed lets a partner share a special offer with your customers, on products or services outside your own range. It's a card in the app, and it can open a details page with a discount code. This page helps you create one inside a campaign.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Partner benefit feeds aren't there by default. Setting them up for your app takes extra development and configuration. Only then do they show in **Feed type**.

## Start a feed and pick its type

Add a feed to your campaign the way you add any feed. See [Add a feed to your campaign](/business-documentation/communication/feeds#add-a-feed-to-your-campaign). Then fill in **Feed details**:

| Field | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Name** | Names the feed in the portal. Up to 100 characters. Customers don't see it. |
| **Analytics identifier** | An ID for following the feed in your analytics. Required for partner benefit feeds, up to 50 characters. |
| **Feed type** | Pick **PartnerBenefit** or **PartnerBenefitBanner**. |

The two types build a different card:

| Feed type | What the customer gets |
| - | - |
| **PartnerBenefit** | A card in a list of partner benefits, with the partner's logo, a title and a subtitle. Tapping it opens a details page with the full benefit and its terms. Customers can filter the list by category, so they find the benefits that interest them. |
| **PartnerBenefitBanner** | An image-only card in a carousel at the top of the screen. Use it for the offers that need the most attention, such as key campaigns or benefits for a limited time. **Action type** decides what tapping it does: open a details page, go to a screen in the app or a website, or nothing. |

Then open **Content type** and pick **Image** or **Video**. **Text** isn't offered, because the card always has an image. The content type only decides what the details page shows: a picture, or a video.

## Design the feed card

Fill in **Feed card**. The preview shows the card as you go.

| Field | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Display priority** | Sets the feed's priority in the app. A lower number means a higher priority. Feeds are ordered by priority first, then by start date, newest first. Priority only compares feeds of the same type. It starts at your app's default. |
| **Upload image** | The card's image. Choose **URL** to link to it, or **Image** to upload one, as PNG or JPG up to 2 MB. It must be 1.95:1 for **PartnerBenefit** and 2:1 for **PartnerBenefitBanner**. An image in the wrong shape shows an error under the field. You can't save or publish the feed until you fix it. If you uploaded it, select **Crop image** to crop it to the right shape. A linked image can't be cropped here, so link to one in the right shape. |
| **Action type** | **PartnerBenefitBanner** only. **Feed card details** opens the details page. **Navigation** sends customers to an app screen or a website. Leave it empty, showing **No navigation**, and tapping does nothing. |
| **Title** | The card's title. Up to 12 characters. |
| **Subtitle** | The line under the title. Up to 40 characters. |

On a **PartnerBenefit** feed, **Title** and **Subtitle** show on the card and at the top of the details page. A **PartnerBenefitBanner** card shows only its image. So it asks for them only when **Action type** is **Feed card details**, and they head the details page.

When **Action type** is **Navigation**, choose **In-app navigation** or **Navigate to external URL**. They work as they do for a feed button. See [Add a button](/business-documentation/communication/feeds#add-a-button).

## Fill in the details page

**Feed card details** is the page that opens when a customer taps the card. It shows for every **PartnerBenefit** feed, and for a **PartnerBenefitBanner** whose **Action type** is **Feed card details**. With **Navigation**, or with no action, there's no details page to fill in. A phone preview shows the page.

| Field | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Category** | The benefit's category. Customers filter the benefit list by it in the app. Pick one of the categories set up for your app. **PartnerBenefit** only. |
| **Brand logo** | The partner's logo, on the card and over the details image. Upload it as PNG or JPG, up to 2 MB. Required for **Image** feeds. **PartnerBenefit** only. |
| **Details image** | The image at the top of the details page, for an **Image** feed. Upload it as PNG or JPG, up to 2 MB. |
| **Video thumbnail URL** | The still image customers see before the video plays, for a **Video** feed. Upload it as PNG or JPG, up to 2 MB. |
| **Video URL** | The video, for a **Video** feed. Choose **URL** to link to it, or **Video** to upload one, as MP4, MOV, AVI or QT up to 30 MB. |
| **Details content** | The description of the benefit. |
| **T\&C content** | Optional terms and conditions. Customers open them with the *Read terms & conditions* link on the page. |
| **Discount type** | Optional. How the discount code shows: **Plain** as text, **BarCode** as a barcode, or **QrCode** as a QR code. Picking one adds a **Discount** field for the code itself. |
| **Button text** | Optional. A button below the discount code, such as one that takes customers to the partner's website. Up to 32 characters. |
| **External URL** | The website the button opens. It appears, and is required, once **Button text** has a value. Enter a full, valid URL. The website always opens inside the app. |
| **Available from start date** | Optional. From the feed's **Start date** until this date, customers see the card and its details page as a teaser. |

A **BarCode** code has to be a valid UPC-A barcode: 11 digits plus a check digit, 12 in all.

Under the title, the details page says *Benefit available until* and the feed's end date. Before **Available from start date**, it says *Available from* and that date instead. The preview then masks the discount code and greys out the button. To see the teaser, tick **Preview as teaser** above the preview. It only shows while **Available from start date** is in the future.

![The same Create Feed form scrolled down to Feed card details, with the side menu collapsed and the Subtitle field of the Feed card section above it. Category is empty. Brand logo and Details image each show an uploaded test image with a Crop image button. Details content reads Show the code at the desk, and T\&C content is empty. Discount type is set to QrCode, Discount holds FILMNIGHT26, Button text reads Book tickets, External URL holds https://www.example.com/film-night, and Available from start date is empty. The phone preview on the right shows the details image with the logo over it, the title Film night and its subtitle, Benefit available until 22 Oct, the details text, and a Book tickets button at the bottom.](https://mintcdn.com/lobyco-4c9fb3ad/rG971_5ZfS49bcjM/images/feeds-03-details-page-and-its-preview.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=rG971_5ZfS49bcjM\&q=85\&s=c708761a723ebc88f49c68c43788e41f)

## Choose who sees it and when

**Segmentation** and **Schedule** work as they do for any feed. See [Choose who sees the feed](/business-documentation/communication/feeds#choose-who-sees-the-feed) and [Set when the feed shows](/business-documentation/communication/feeds#set-when-the-feed-shows).

The **End date** is the date customers see under *Benefit available until*.

## Save or publish

Save or publish as for any feed. See [Save or publish](/business-documentation/communication/feeds#save-or-publish). **Publish** stays greyed out until every required field is filled in, including **Analytics identifier**. It also stays greyed out while the card image is the wrong shape.

## Approve or reject a partner's feed

A partner can send in a partner benefit feed of their own. It waits for your approval, and its form is read-only, so you can only approve or reject it.

* **Approve** publishes it, or schedules it if its start date is later.
* **Reject** turns it down. **Reason for rejection** opens, where you describe why and can add images. The feed then shows your reason under **Rejection details**.

## About the partner programme

Partner benefit feeds are part of a partner programme. Partners reach new customers who are likely to be interested, and your customers get benefits from brands they may already use. Because it gives partners real value, the programme can also bring you income.

## Troubleshooting

> **Why is my barcode rejected?**
>
> A **BarCode** has to be exactly 12 digits, with nothing else in it. The last digit is a check digit worked out from the first 11, so a 12-digit number can still be an invalid barcode. Check the code with the partner. If the partner's code isn't a UPC-A barcode, pick **Plain** or **QrCode** instead.

If none of these answers your question, contact Lobyco support. Send them the campaign's name and the feed's ID, from the top of **Feed details**.
